Job Summary:

The Chamber of Commerce is seeking a highly motivated, results-driven Member Engagement Coordinator to join our team. This position will be responsible for attracting new members, maintaining current member relationships, and driving revenue through membership sales. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, goal-oriented, and passionate about supporting local businesses and community growth.

  • Sales and Outreach:
    • Prospect and generate new member leads through various channels, including business visits, cold calling, networking events, e-mail campaigns, and social media.
    • Schedule meetings and presentations to potential members to explain the benefits of Chamber membership and how it can support their business goals.
    • Follow up with prospective members to address questions, overcome objections, and close sales.
    • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly membership sales goals and KPIs.
  • Member Retention and Engagement:
    • Maintain relationships with current members to ensure their ongoing satisfaction and retention.
    • Conduct outreach to renew memberships and identify opportunities for upselling additional services or benefits.
    • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing member concerns and responding to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Event Promotion and Participation:
    • Actively promote Chamber events, programs, and networking opportunities to both prospective and existing members.
    • Actively promote event sales including tickets, sponsorships, raffles, and auction items.
    • Attend Chamber events, mixers, and community gatherings to build relationships and foster new membership opportunities.
  • Reporting and Administration:
    • Track sales activities and progress in the Chamber’s management system.
    • Prepare regular reports on membership growth, sales activities, and key performance metrics.
    • Assist in the development and execution of membership campaigns.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred, but not required).
  • Proven experience in sales, business development, or customer service, preferably in a membership-driven organization or Chamber of Commerce.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for sales and achieving targets.
  • Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Chamber Master, Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of local business landscape and community is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
Working Conditions:
  • This is a full-time position with occasional evening and weekend work required for Chamber events and meetings.
  • Occasional travel may be required for business development and networking purposes.
  • The position will be based at the Chamber office but may involve remote work flexibility.
